Malacañang is tight-lipped on whether or not Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte and his brother-in-law, Manases “Mans” Carpio, will say something at the continuation of the Senate listening to on the Bureau of Customs whilst they confirmed their attendance to the probe.
In a press briefing Monday (September four), presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella stated Duterte and Carpio “are willing to face” the Senate Blue Ribbon committee, which prolonged an invite for them to attend a listening to earlier within the day.
Asked if President Rodrigo Duterte’s two family will talk, Abella stated: “Well, that will be their prerogative. But they definitely… They’ve definitely said that they’re willing to face.”
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV pushed for inviting the youthful Duterte and Carpio, the husband of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, to the listening to on September 7 after their names had been talked about throughout discussions on the anomalies inside the Bureau of Customs.
In a press release, Paolo and Carpio stated they are going to be attending the listening to since they respect the Senate panel’s invitation.
