DETAINED Sen. Leila de Lima mentioned President Rodrigo Duterte is the “most culpable” within the reinstatement of Supt. Marvin Marcos and 18 different policemen concerned within the killing of two folks in 2016.
She mentioned that her colleagues “barked at the wrong tree” once they ganged up on Phil. National Police chief Ronald dela Rosa for reinstating Marcos.
Marcos, director of CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group) Region 12, and 18 different policemen had been going through murder charges for the killing of former Albuera, Leyte mayor Rolando Espinosa in November 2016.
She famous that in the course of the Wednesday’s Senate probe on the downgrading of the charges, from homicide to murder, in opposition to Marcos and his males, fellow senators gave the impression to be up in arms in opposition to Dela Rosa and Justice Undersecretary Reynante Orceo, who downgraded the charges in opposition to Marcos.

“I’m afraid my colleagues are barking at the wrong tree. To be sure, both dela Rosa and more specifically, USec Orceo and certainly SoJ (Secretary of Justice Vitaliano) Aguirre are not blameless,” the senator mentioned.

They are actually culpable for “enforcing illegal orders from their common principal, the President,” mentioned De Lima, detained on the PNP Custodial Center on drug charges.

“But most culpable is Duterte himself who gave them such illegal and unjust order to ‘go slow’ on Marcos, et al, which translates, as it did, to the latter’s freedom from detention and their reinstatement into service and promotability,” she added.
