Malacañang has confirmed that slain Ozamiz mayor Reynaldo Parojinog was among the many politikos publicly linked by President Duterte to unlawful drug commerce.
Parojinog, his spouse and a number of other others have been killed throughout a predawn anti-drug operation carried out by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in San Roque Lawis, Ozamiz City. They have been gunned down after reportedly resisting arrest.
“The administration vowed to intensify the drug campaign,” a press release from Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella learn.
“The Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted a raid in the Parojinog residence this morning which led to the arrest of Ozamiz Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog-Echavez and scores of others,” he stated.
“The Parojinogs, if you would recall, are included in PRRD’s list of personalities involved in the illegal drug trade.”
Parojinog was the second mayor killed because the authorities launched its lethal warfare on unlawful medicine. Albuera Mayor Rolando Espino was gunned down when police served a search warrant inside his detention cell in November 2016.
