President Rodrigo Duterte appeared removed from amused being quizzed concerning the uncommon circumstances wherein sure narcopolitikos he had named died.
In an interview Wednesday (August 2) after gracing the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s anniversary, Duterte was requested by ABS-CBN reporter Doris Bigornia: “Sir, kailan ho ulit may matutumba na mayor?”
Duterte deadpanned: “Depende na lang sa intriga mo kung saan ang mas marami.”
The newest narcopolitiko to die was Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr.
Parojinog and 14 others died in a raid by members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Region 10 on July 30.
Duterte stated the Parojinogs have been lording it over Ozamiz City for years.
“Parojinog has been there and you can ask the ordinary citizen of Ozamiz. Tanungin mo sila kung ilan ang pulis namatay doon na hindi sumunod. They were running the city as if it was a feudal state of the family,” he stated.
The President added that he has been vocal about warning mayors towards moving into the unlawful drug commerce.
