Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito hopes alleged pork barrel rip-off mastermind Janet Lim Napoles gained’t get away for plunder and graft as simply as she did within the unlawful detention case filed by her cousin and former assistant, Benhur Luy.
“I’m hoping (that in) the bigger cases, she will not be (acquitted). She has to pay for these, for all her crimes. (The issue on the) PDAF is taxpayers’ money. Of course she has to pay for it so that there will be no more such crimes in the future,” Ejercito instructed reporters Monday (May eight).
The senator expressed dismay over the Court of Appeals’ determination to acquit within the unlawful detention case filed by Luy, who can also be a whistleblower within the pork barrel rip-off instances.
Ejercito’s half-brother, former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada is a co-accused of Napoles within the plunder and graft charges filed in reference to the alleged misuse of lawmakers’ Priority Development Assistance Fund from 2007 to 2010.
