Members of the Philippine Air Force may have new vehicles to look ahead to as President Rodrigo Duterte vowed to proceed the modernization program.
In his speech on the PAF’s 70th anniversary Tuesday (July four), Duterte stated he’ll “build on our past gains” to strengthen the Air Force.
“We will continue the ongoing modernization program by procuring additional attack and combat utility vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles or UAVs to complement our already existing air assets,” he stated.
Duterte lauded the PAF for its function in preserving the nation’s integrity by conducting intensified aerial reconnaissance missions and the maritime patrols over the West Philippine Sea and the Benham Rise, in addition to its provision of air assist to floor forces.
The President stated the PAF has joined over 2,000 counter-insurgency and legislation enforcement operations, 5 of which contributing to our ongoing battle towards unlawful medicine and unfastened firearms.
