Education Secretary Leonor Briones has urged parents who fled from Marawi City to enroll their youngsters to the closest colleges to allow them to proceed their research.

In a press briefing in Malacañang Tuesday (June 6), Briones stated the DepEd has waived the same old documentary necessities for enrollment to give the kids of the evacuees extra leeway in going to school.

Based on the report from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), just one,391 schoolchildren from the 22,000 affected by the battle in Marawi City enrolled in colleges outdoors the combating zone.

Briones urged DepEd officers to persuade native authorities models to empty the colleges used as evacuation facilities and assign different acceptable locations in order that youngsters may return to school and spare them of battle trauma.

For occasion, she stated there have been reviews saying that three colleges in Iligan are getting used as evacuation facilities.
