Senators Richard Gordon and Antonio Trillanes IV engaged in a heated argument throughout the Blue Ribbon Committee probe on the P6.Four-B drug cargo from China.
The heated alternate of phrases began when Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, stated that the members of Senate Blue Ribbon Committee which led by Sen. Gordon was being “jiterry” and was already badgering non-public dealer Mark Taguba, one among the witness of the customs scandal.
When Gordon requested if Trillanes referred him and Senator Tito Sotto to his current statements, the former soldier stated: “If you feel alluded to, then that’s your problem.”
Because of that, Sen. Gordon informed Trillanes that the staunch critic of President Duterte should current concrete proof and never rumors.
“You’re so fond of making names here. I was making general statements. If you want to make general statements, you better prove it. This is the Senate of the Philippines; this is not a cockpit of chismis. We are here investigating real things. Wag nang magdadaldal dito ng hindi mo nalalalaman,” Gordon replied.
While Senator Trillanes is talking, Gordon then dominated Trillanes “out of order” and suspended the listening to shortly.
During the suspension, Senator Trillanes grabbed his microphone and stated that “”Nagiging komite de abswelto ang Blue Ribbon Committee.”
Because of that, Senator Gordon got here again to his seat, resumed the session and cited Trillanes in contempt.
Trillanes shortly objected the determination of Gordon.
“I made an objection, your honor. You are not a one-man committee here,” stated Trillanes.
The statements of Trillanes made Sen. Gordon fume and threatened to file an ethics complaint against the former soldier turned politician.
“The gentleman has been accusing everybody in the Senate of everything. In the past, you got away. Senator Zubiri and you almost got into a slugfest,” stated Gordon.
“I am asking the Majority Floor Leader to convoke the Ethics Committee and I will file personally an ethics committee case against the gentleman from Bicol,” he stated.
