Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II on Sunday stated that Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) would be a part of the continued probe on Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chair Andres Bautista’s alleged undeclared wealth.
“The BIR wants to partner with us in this investigation. We need to see if there are tax liabilities based on the affidavit and documents we have gathered,” stated Aguirre.
Aguirre met with BIR Commissioner Cesar Dulay on Sunday as they mentioned the parameters of the investigation and sharing of paperwork and findings with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Aguirre stated the BIR chief will problem a letter of authority to Bautista and others talked about in Patricia’s affidavit.
The DoJ Secretary stated that Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez has been knowledgeable in regards to the letter.
In her affidavit, Patricia Paz stated she found a variety of belongings that weren’t listed in Bautista’s assertion of belongings, liabilities and web price price over P1 billion.
Bautista declared a web price of P176.three million in his SALN.
