A suspected drug lord and supporter of the Maute Terrorist Group was killed in a regulation enforcement operations in Malabang, Lanao Del Sur early Wednesday morning.

Nago Balindong, one of the 10 most wished drug sellers within the province, was shot after he engaged authorities in a shootout in his hideout in Barangay Jose Abad Santos.

Reports say joint components from PNP ARMM, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Philippine Army and native officers have been about to serve a warrant of arrest towards Balindong when he pulled out a gun.

Balindong, who comes from a distinguished clan in Malabang, can be suspected of offering monetary help to the Maute Terrorist Group at the moment participating safety forces in Marawi City.

After the shooutout, the authorities recovered shabu, a pistol, two fragmentation grenades and a number of other rounds ammunition.

Balindong’s spouse Noraya Santican, a barangay official, together with Bocari Balindong, Camaloden Balindong and Tingaraab Boro-Boro have been arrested.
