(Eagle News) — The Supreme Court is holding its second round of oral arguments on detained Senator Leila de Lima’s petitions on Tuesday.
De Lima’s camp filed the petitions in opposition to Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 204 Judge Juanita Guerrero, who issued a warrant of arrest in opposition to her in February.
The warrant stems from a case filed in opposition to the senator in connection along with her alleged involvement in unlawful drug buying and selling within the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa.
Former Solicitor General Florin Hilbay is representing De Lima within the oral arguments.
Solicitor General Jose Calida, for his half, is representing the respondents within the petition, specifically Guerrero, the Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald Bato dela Rosa, PNP Custodial Unit’s Supt. Arnel Jamandron Apud, and Supt. Philip Gil Philipps.
