Malacañang has appealed for public assist as the nationwide smoking ban takes effect Sunday (July 23).
In a press release, presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella mentioned Executive Order No. 26 is a “milestone” within the authorities’s objective to defend public well being.

“Together, let us give our full cooperation and support to the smoke-free establishments in public and enclosed places,” Abella mentioned.
The EO is a success of Duterte’s marketing campaign promise to implement a smoking ban related to what he put in place in Davao City as mayor.
Under EO 26, smoking banned in public and personal transportation utilities, as properly as institutions such as colleges, hospitals, clinics, meals preparation areas, and areas by which fireplace hazards are current.
