Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III on Wednesday issued a stern warning towards PDP-Laban members insisting on declaring House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez persona non grata.

“Well kung hindi sila makikinig sa akin to stop this foolishness, then they will be subject to disciplinary action,” he stated, including that sanctions may vary from warning to expulsion from their party.

“Meron naman kaming processes eh. Graduated naman ‘yun (disciplinary action) eh. (That is) if they will not stop this foolishness,” Pimentel confused.

The Senate chief and present PDP-Laban president was requested anew on the problem regarding some Mindanao-based party leaders led by former Labor Usec. Rogelio Garcia, party chair Region 12 and Cesar Cuntapay, interim president of Southern Mindanao regional council of PDP-Laban.

They, together with so-called Mindanao party bigwigs handed a decision Thursday declaring Alvarez particular person non grata, a “fake secretary general” of PDP-Laban and “a guy with no moral ascendancy” amongst different unsavory names.

Pimentel, final Aug. 25, suggested Cuntapay’s group to respect the party’s processes and submit his criticism to PDP-Laban’s arbitration process.

Despite this latest occasion, Pimentel maintained that “there is no infighting in PDP-Laban.”

“When an organization is growing, meron po talagang pagbabago na mangyayari at may mga naka pwesto na na matatamaan ng pagbabago. ‘Yun lang po, may mga reklamo, pero we used to be one big family. Dapat kaya nang pag-usapan yan,” he stated.
