Malacañang has hailed the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the constitutionality of President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration of martial law.
“With the Supreme Court decision, the whole government now stands together as one against a common enemy,” presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella mentioned in a press release Tuesday (July four).
Abella mentioned Duterte “will not waver in this commitment to end rebellion, the evil of terrorism and to liberate Marawi” in accordance along with his vow to guard Filipinos.
He appealed to the general public to assist and cooperate with native authorities whereas martial law is in place, saying safety must be a shared duty.
Voting 11-Three-1, the Supreme Court junked the petitions questioning Duterte’s foundation for declaring martial law.
