Senator Migz Zubiri on Wednesday stated he believed that Secretary Judy Taguiwalo has the “formula” to do away with poverty in the countryside.
Zubiri didn’t conceal his disappointment when the bicameral Commission on Appointments (CA) rejected Taguiwalo’s appointment as head of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
“For me it’s probably the first time for a very long time that the DSWD is headed by a person that was non-partisan,” Zubiri stated.
Unlike different Cabinet appointees, Zubiri stated Taguiwalo didn’t signify a political social gathering or not a politician.
“The only thing in her heart is to help the poor. Because of that I vote for her confirmation,” Zubiri stated at the plenary the place the CA handed down its verdict to reject her.
“So, godspeed, Ma’am,” stated Zubiri.
