Sen. Panfilo Lacson is not keen on investigating the Resorts World Manila assault by a dismissed Department of Finance worker that left almost 40 folks lifeless.

Lacson instructed a Senate media discussion board Thursday the incident gave the impression to be a “purely criminal act” involving the implementation of safety measures.

“Hindi na (kailangang imbestigahin). Sa akin nakakapangamba lang kung may aspeto ng terrorism. Lumalabas naman na purely criminal act ng isang tao,” he stated.

Besides, he stated the Lower House already tackled the lapses in safety preparations of Resorts World Manila.

However, Lacson stated he might search hearings on a invoice he filed to transform the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. right into a purely regulatory physique.

“Kasi sa ngayon may conflict. Regulatory body na sila, at the same time operator pa sila. So in consultation with Pagcor itself, ok sa kanila i-transition lamang at pag binenta ang existing casinos operated by Pagcor, revenue pa sa govt yan. Pag privatize mo yan may karampatang halaga yan na pwede ipasok sa national treasury,” he stated.
