Malacañang has vowed to assist the families of the 2 soldiers killed in an airstrike towards the ISIS-linked Maute group in Marawi City.
In a press release Thursday (July 13), presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella expressed disappointment over the casualties in the so-called “friendly fire.”
“Government will remember their heroism and will provide the necessary assistance to their bereaved families,” he mentioned.
Abella mentioned President Rodrigo Duterte condoles with the families of the 2 soldiers.
He assured that the armed forces will examine the circumstances which led to the incident.
According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), 11 soldiers have been additionally wounded in the pleasant fireplace incident.
