Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV frowned on the obvious “special interest” that Sen. Richard Gordon has proven within the re-opening of the investigation into the bloodbath of 44 Special Action Force (SAF) in Mamasapano in 2015.
Trillanes complained that Gordon, as chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Order, abruptly ended the investigation into the extrajudicial killings (EJKs) of suspected drug sellers and drug customers on the bottom that he sees no onerous proof to point out that the EJKs have been State-sponsored.
“Mas aatupagin pa ni Sen. Gordon ‘yung nakaraang issue na piniga na ng husto ng dating Congreso pero ‘yung mga libo-libong pinapatay na Pilipino sa kasalukuyan, wala syang panahon,” Trillanes mentioned.
The SAF troopers have been despatched on a mission, beneath Oplan Exodus, to Mamasapano, Maguindanao in January 2015 to arrest Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir and Filipino bomber Basit Usman.
However, a gaggle of Muslim rebels ambushed the SAF commandos after they neutralized Zulkifli.
