Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III mentioned he has yet to make a dedication on convening Congress as a constituent meeting (Con-Ass) to begin floor works on Charter change (Cha-cha) and pave for the deliberate shift to federal form of presidency.
“Wala pang formal agreement pero in principle, agree ako (on Con-Ass). I made Charter change a priority in this second (regular) session,” he mentioned on Friday.
Pimentel was reacting stories the place Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez was quoted saying that they each agreed to push for Cha-cha, presumably convene Congress into Con-Ass someday Jan. or Feb. subsequent yr.
Pimentel, in his speech in the course of the sine die adjournment final June 2, vowed to push for federalism in Congress and work on Cha-cha.
At least 13 payments have been endorsed by Legislative-Executive Advisory Council (LEDAC) chair and National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Chair Ernesto Pernia to the President as “urgent bills” in Congress in a gathering in Malacanang final July 17 and there was no point out about Cha-cha.
“That’s why I made it in my list of priorities which I submitted to the Senate Majority Leader (Vicente Sotto III). Congress also pursues its priorities, not only LEDAC-identified ones,” he careworn.
