The “wang wang”tradition or the inclination to make use of sirens on the highway for non-emergency causes has apparently returned, broadcaster Korina Sanchez mentioned.

In her June 11 column for Pilipino Star Ngayon, Sanchez referred to as the Metro Manila Development Authority’s consideration to personalities who use sirens and bodyguards to succeed in their locations instantly.

“[M]ukhang bumabalik na naman ang mahihilig gumamit ng sirena at ilaw, at mga bodyguard na humahawi sa kalsada. Hindi ba bawal na rin dapat iyan, o depende na rin sa administrasyon?” she requested.

Former President Benigno Aquino III was recognized for foregoing using sirens on the highway.

In his inaugural tackle, Aquino instituted a “no wang-wang” coverage for personalities who weren’t allowed by regulation to make use of blaring sirens.

To stroll his speak, Aquino mentioned he won’t use sirens on the highway even when it meant being late.
