The Philippine News Agency (PNA) has dedicated one other gaffe, simply days after it drew flak for posting a Chinese propaganda piece on the South China Sea.

PNA’s web site featured the logo of DOLE Food Company for a story on the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) issuance of pay guidelines for holidays in 2018.

The multinational firm’s logo was used because the thumbnail picture for the story printed Friday night (August 11).

The thumbnail picture has since been modified to the right DOLE logo.

The DOLE booboo is simply the newest within the PNA’s string of gaffes. On August 6, the state-run information company posted an opnion piece by Xinhua which described the arbitral ruling on the South China Sea as an “ill-founded award.”

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar has requested PNA officers to clarify why the opinion piece wasn’t vetted earlier than being posted on the web site.
