Former Akbayan get together record Rep. Walden Bello took a swipe at President Duterte for having no concrete plan to handle the Bangsamoro drawback aside from bore the folks to death along with his federalism discuss.

“Ironically, the situation in Mindanao is getting worse under a president from Mindanao. Not surprising, since Duterte never had any plan for Mindanao except to pacify people with the rhetoric of federalism,” Bello wrote on Facebook.

Bello known as on the federal government to use a “political solution,” not martial regulation, to resolve the issue in Mindanao earlier than the phobia risk spills over to different elements of the nation.

He stated Maute militants have “succeeded beyond their original expectations” because the battle in Marawi rages on.

“It is only a matter of time before the terrorist coalition opens up a second front, or rival groups will open other fronts to take advantage of the AFP’s being bogged down in a war of attrition in Marawi,” he warned.

“Martial law simply makes the AFP’s position even more precarious, as it forces it to release troops for police functions all over Mindanao. More than ever, a political solution to the Bangsa Moro issue is needed, but that is not on this administration’s agenda,” he stated.
