President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday (September 14) met with the highest two leaders of Congress and leaders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) to debate the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).

Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza mentioned the President talked about his sport plan to maneuver the measure ahead with Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez and members of the MILF’s central committee, in addition to the Bangsamoro Transition Committee.

“He just said, ‘Meron akong plano at tawagin ko uli kayo. Mag-usap tayo,” Dureza instructed reporters.

He mentioned Duterte desires to “nurture” the invoice to make sure its passage, particularly given the Constitutional points that encompass it.

“Di ba dati akala natin merong mag-author lang,, bahala na. Pabayaan mo na ang Kongreso diyan. Naku pag pakawalan mo yan at hindi mo gawan ng game plan from the executive, baka di ma-ano,” he mentioned.

The BBL seeks to formalize the creation of a brand new political entity that can exchange the exisiting Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Duterte has assured MILF leaders in a latest assembly that the BBL’s passage stay a precedence, after posts on social media point out lawmakers’ lukewarmness in dicussing it.
