Congress just isn’t a “fastfood” restaurant.

Sen. Risa Hontiveros stated Congress should first evaluation President Duterte’s request to delay martial law till the top of the 12 months.

President Duterte earlier known as for a particular session of Congress to contemplate the proposed martial law extension. Proclamation 216 on martial law to quell the Maute-led riot will
lapse on July 22.

“Ang paghingi ng martial law extension ay hindi parang umoorder lang sa Jollibee. Congress is not a fastfood restaurant,” Hontiveros stated.

She stated that earlier than Congress decides on proposed martial law extension, it will be significant that every one legislators are “properly briefed on the real and current situation in Marawi and how martial law was implemented in the said area.”

“While I look forward to the joint session that Congress will convene on this matter, hindi dapat madaliin ang prosesong ito,” Hontiveros stated.
