The return to lively obligation of Superintendent Marvin Marcos and others linked to the killing of Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa final November could have deep penalties, Sen. Panfilo Lacson mentioned Sunday.

Lacson, who headed the Philippine National Police from 1999 to 2001, mentioned Marcos’ case will embolden rogue cops to demand discipline assignments.

“The Marcos case may have deeper implications. Police scalawags may now invoke his case as precedent and demand to be given field assignments,” he mentioned in a tweet (https://twitter.com/iampinglacson/standing/886465676625498112).

Marcos and his males had been linked to the killing of Espinosa in a subprovincial jail final Nov. 5. At the time, they had been within the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Region eight.

An investigation by two Senate panels, one in all which is headed by Lacson, discovered the killing of Espinosa was premeditated.

Despite this, Marcos is reportedly set to return to lively obligation this week, as head of the CIDG in Region 12.
