For the sake of their security, President Rodrigo Duterte has suggested soldiers to carry the handguns he gave them even after they’re not on responsibility.

During the ceremonial turnover of 45-caliber pistols to the Armed Forces of the Philippines Tuesday (July 18), Duterte stated he disapproves of the ban on soldiers carrying their weapons exterior army camps.

“I am not in favor of the rule that you cannot bring your sidearm outside of your camp residence. I will overrule that kind of regulations because it is stupid,” he stated.

Duterte stated it’s higher for soldiers to have a hid weapon as a result of their enemies, equivalent to fighters of the New People’s Army, can ambush them at any second.

Taguin ninyo. Huwag ninyong ipakita,” he stated.

“Your best defense is not to let anybody know that you have a gun with you.
