The Liberal Party on Wednesday sought the resignation of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre for repeatedly arising with “erroneous” claims in opposition to the opposition.
The LP refused to disregard the latest accusation of Aguirre in opposition to some LP members whom he accused of bribing the dad and mom of 17-year-old Kian delos Santos, killed throughout a drug raid, for political functions.
“For his repeated issuances of erroneous claims, thereby diminishing the stature of his office, we call on Secretary Aguirre to resign,” the LP mentioned in a press release.
The LP, which has been tagged as “dilawan,” by Aguirre strongly denied allegations that its members tried to bribe Saldy and Lorenza delos Santos to make use of the death of their son Kian for “political propaganda.”
“The party has not made any contact with Mr. and Mrs. Delos Santos outside of commiserating with them at Kian’s wake and funeral,” the LP mentioned.
It added that this isn’t the primary time that Aguirre lied about LP. “We recall numerous instances the Secretary himself had to recant and apologize for that fake news he spread about the party and its members.”
Former president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, LP chairman emeritus, lives in Times Street in Quezon City.
The LP famous that earlier this yr, Aguirre had, for occasion, apologized in a Senate listening to for mendacity that Senators Francis Pangilinan (LP President) and Leila de Lima (LP), and Antonio Trillanes IV (Magdalo), have been planning to supply immunity to some of the personalities concerned within the P50-million bribery scandal on the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
