Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana has come to troopers’ protection following the allegation of Gabriela Women’s Party and different leftist groups that they’ve threatened women in Marawi City with rape if they didn’t go away.

In a press release Monday (June 26), Lorenzana questioned the motives and credibility of the groups behind the allegation because the army is within the thick of preventing the Maute group.

“I problem the organizations the place the knowledge originated to prespresent their proof and lodge a criticism earlier than the correct authorities if they’ll, and never simply throw away accusations like they’re studying strains from their standard propaganda for nearly 5

a long time now which the Filipino individuals have grown drained of listening to,” he stated.

Gabriela party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas earlier claimed that it was women at evacuation facilities in Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur who knowledgeable her of the rape menace from troopers.

“I have personally heard the stories of women who sought refuge in evacuation centers in Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur after government troops threatened to rape them, as encouraged by no less than President Duterte in his public remarks,” Brosas stated.

Given that troopers are risking their lives to defeat the Maute group, Lorenzana can solely assume of one motive for the leftist groups’ declare: sabotage.

“The groups who made the report have just exposed their obvious ulterior motives – for the government fail in the fight against evil in order to advance whatever selfish reasons they have,” he stated.

“Hindi po ba ang mga grupong ito ang mga grupong patuloy na nagbubulag-bulagan sa mga krimeng ginagawa ng mga kabaro nila sa CPP-NPA? The same groups who conveniently forget that their communist-terrorists colleagues continue to loot, murder, rape, and destroy private and public properties in the countryside,” Lorenzana added.

The Defense Secretary stated surveys will present that the army continues to take pleasure in excessive public belief.
