Former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo confirmed she cares for Marawi evacuees when she visited them in Iligan City lately.
Arroyo went to the National School of Fisheries in Brgy. Buru-un and in Sta. Elena Evacuation website to distribute reduction packs to the evacuees. She was accompanied by Iligan City Mayor Celso Regencia and Vice Mayor Jemar Vera Cruz.
Though Arroyo considers Pampanga her hometown, she traces her roots to Iligan City as her maternal grandparents lived in the town in the 1950s. She additionally lived in her household’s ancestral home thereduring her childhood.
Around 800 households have been staying in evacuation facilities throughout Iligan City since May due to the combating between authorities forces and the Maute group.
