The Armed Forces of the Philippines is hoping it might liberate marawi City from the clutches of the terrorist Maute group on Independence Day.

Quoting AFP Cheif of Staff General Eduardo Ano, AFP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla stated it’s the army’s purpose to boost ther Philippine flag in each nook of Marawi City on June 12.

“We’re working feverishly to do that to ensure we are able to do to a big extent what was announced by the Chief of Staff,” he stated throughout the Mindanao Hour press briefing in Malacanang Friday (June 9).

Padilla stated waving the Philippine flag in Marawi City will fulfill twin targets because it won’t solely be a commemoration of Independence Day, but in addition a celebration of the realm’s freedom.

Government forces have been locked in battle with the Maute group for 3 weeks now.
