Incomprehensible, even idiotic.
This was how Sen. Panfilo Lacson described on Thursday the claims that former President Benigno Aquino III acted “in conspiracy” with then suspended police chief Alan Purisima.
“Accusing a commander-in-chief of ‘conspiracy’, leading to the Mamasapano carnage is not only a stretch. It’s incomprehensible, even idiotic,” Lacson stated in a tweet (https://twitter.com/iampinglacson/standing/888011381550661632).
Ombudsman Conchita Morales had ordered charges filed in opposition to Aquino for the operation that killed 44 Special Action Force troopers in Mamasapano, Maguindanao in January 2015.
The charges stemmed from a criticism filed by the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption, which claimed Aquino was conscious of the operation to neutralize terrorist Marwan and that he acted in conspiracy with Purisima, who was then underneath preventive suspension.
Aquino denied appearing in conspiracy, saying Purisima didn’t act as PNP chief on the operation and merely served as a useful resource particular person.
