House Minority Floor Leader Danilo Suarez doesn’t like one other group sharing the term “minority” with his posse.

In a press release Monday (June 6), Suarez urged the media to make use of the “proper designation” when referring to the group of Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman.

The House chief took issue with some journalists use of the term “minority bloc” in studies on statements coming from Lagman and the so-called “Magnificent 7” unbiased group.

Joining Lagman within the group are Reps. Tom Villarin, Edgar Erice, Gary Alejano, Teddy Baguilat, Raul Daza and Emmanuel Billiones.

Suarez stated the House guidelines are clear that the respectable minority bloc is the one he leads.

“We emphasize the distinction between the majority bloc, minority bloc and the Independents as these designations have clear definitions and specific roles in the lower house,” he stated.
