Negros Occidental third Rep. Albee Benitez on Tuesday (April 25) warned of the attainable collapse of the federal government’s housing program no due to the KADAMAY incident.

He pointed to the weak assortment price of the National Housing Authority (NHA), which suffered an additional 50 % discount following city poor group KADAMAY’s arbitrary takeover of hundreds of government-built housing models final month in Pandi and San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

“Yung NHA na dati 30 percent na lang ang collection, ngayon 15 percent na lang dahil sa isyu na ito,” Benitez mentioned in a press convention in Pandi.

“To begin with, mababa na ang koleksyon, nadagdagan pa nito, lalong bumaba dahil sa sinisigaw ng KADAMAY na libreng pabahay,” famous the chairman of the Committee on Housing and Urban Development.

As such, the Visayan congressman expressed concern that the general public housing program would possibly go underneath as a result of precedent set by KADAMAY. “The housing program might collapse.”

The housing models in Bulacan have been initially meant for policemen and troopers. They have been empty when the KADAMAY members occupied them and handled them as their very own.
