President Rodrigo Duterte would reasonably spend on beefing up the army than resuming peace talks with the communists since they seem like unwilling to reciprocate the goodwill proven by the federal government.
In his speech at Go Negosyo’s occasion in Malacañang Tuesday (July 25), Duterte reiterated his refusal to barter with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines after its armed wing, the New People’s Army, ambushed a convoy of the Presidential Security Group in Arakan, Cotabato earlier this month.
“Gusto ninyo akong kausapin, peace talks-peace talks, kung anu-ano diyan. Kalaki ko pang gastos pagpapakain sa inyo, p**** i** kayo. Every time na mag-usap tayo, gastos ko. L****,” he mentioned.
Instead of spending on the peace talks, Duterte mentioned he would “prepare” the federal government for a protracted battle with the communists by spending on the army.
“Alam mo bakit? Kasi ‘pag hindi ko ginawang matatag at matibay na militar pati pulis, babagsak itong bayan na ito sa kalokohan ninyo,” he mentioned, addressing the communists.
Duterte mentioned he doesn’t care if the communists sow chaos on account of his cancellation of the peace talks.
“Kasi kayo, mag-demonstrate, magtapon ng bato — sige, subukan mo. Ipabaril ko kayo. Eh ano ngayon kung magpunta ako sa impiyerno. Bakit kayo hindi? T*** — Ipagpatuloy natin ang laban doon, mga l**** kayo. T*** i**,” he fumed.
