Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III does not wish to make a giant deal out of President Rodrigo Duterte’s absence within the public eye these previous three days.

Pimentel stated Duterte ought to be allowed to relaxation if Malacañang has not talked about something about an ailment.

“If he is sick, then ES (Executive Secretary) has the duty to divulge that the President is sick. If he is resting, well, let him rest. No need to announce, ‘The President is resting.’ What for?” he stated in a textual content message to reporters Wednesday (June 14).

Pimentel stated he sees “no issue” if Duterte determined to take a break from showing in public engagements.

Speculation on Duterte’s well being surfaced after he skipped Independence Day rites at Luneta on Monday (June 12). He has not been seen in public for the previous three days.

Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella stated Duterte was simply resting.
