Senator Gringo Honasan has reiterated that he has nothing to do with the reported P10-billion pork barrel fund scam hatched by detained businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles.
“I am completely innocent of the charges against me,” mentioned Honasan in an announcement launched Thursday following the issuance of an arrest warrant by the Sandiganbayan towards him.
Honasan, chair of the Senate Committee on National Defense and Security, is dealing with two counts of graft for alleged irregularities within the disbursement of P30 million from his pork barrel funds in 2012.
“All my life I have fought everything I am accused of, and I will continue to do so,” mentioned Honasan, a member of the Phil. Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1971.
Napoles, the alleged pork barrel fund scam queen, claimed that 20 incumbent and former senators, together with Honasan, had misused their Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
