Senator Risa Hontiveros on Wednesday sneered at President Duterte for refuting her assertions that his administration was espousing a tradition of impunity within the nation.
“To President Duterte and all the EJK (extrajudicial killing) deniers, here is your pattern. Here is the result of your policy,” Hontiveros mentioned.
She cited as one other damning proof the brutal stabbing of 14-year-old Reynaldo de Guzman, the alleged companion of EJK sufferer Carl Angelo Arnaiz, who was discovered lifeless in Gapan, Nueva Ecija.
Hontiveros mentioned the death of De Guzman, who bore 31 stab wounds in his physique, was a “vile, gruesome and barbaric act.”
“Reynaldo, at the tender age of 14, did nothing to deserve such a fate. To be stabbed 31 times is no accident. It is the pure and simple murder of a child,” she mentioned.
“I hope this removes any doubt and settles with finality any discussion of whether or not there is a pattern and policy of killings under the Duterte government,” she added.
Hontiveros insisted sample of killing younger and poor individuals, significantly harmless minors, has emerged under Duterte’s bloody battle on medication,
“There is a policy to kill. I urge the people to stand up and insist that the Duterte government end its abusive war on drugs that created this culture of killing and impunity in our country,” she mentioned.
