Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III is reportedly livid on the Office of the Presidential Spokesman for erroneously quoting him on the status of Customs chief Nicanor Faeldon.

Dominguez has denied issuing a press release that Faeldon continues to benefit from the belief of the President and has been requested to remain in his post. The Finance Secretary apparently solely confirmed the President’s assembly with Faeldon final Tuesday and nothing extra.

Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella was compelled to difficulty a clarification in regards to the assertion that was wrongly attributed to Dominguez.

“May we clarify that he made no such announcement. He merely confirmed that a meeting with various officials transpired, when asked by our staff,” said Abella, who was not current within the assembly.

“As we learned, various officials also attended the meeting wherein the President expressed confidence in Commissioner Faeldon, and told him to serve the country. That means stopping the flow of drugs, which now are mostly from abroad. We enjoin the BoC to give this order full attention and compliance,” he said.

Last Tuesday evening, the Palace launched a press release supposedly coming from Dominguez in regards to the President’s determination on Faeldon. The false assertion was ready by the OPS employees since their boss remains to be reportedly overseas.

“From Finance Secretary Sonny Dominguez. On Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon The President has met Bureau of Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon this afternoon. The Chief Executive has expressed his full confidence in Commissioner Faeldon and told him to focus on serving the country.”
