The Sandiganbayan has allowed former senator Jinggoy Estrada to post bail for the plunder case he’s going through in reference to the pork barrel rip-off.
In a 15-page ruling, the anti-graft courtroom allowed Estrada to post a P1-million bail for plunder and P330,000 for 11 counts of graft.
Those who voted in favor of granting Estrada bail had been Associate Justices Maria Theresa Mendoza-Arcega, Reynaldo Cruz and Lorifel Pahimna.
Associate Justices Rafael Lagos and Zaldy Trespeses dissented.
The son of former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada was charged with plunder and graft in 2014 for allegedly misusing P180 million of his pork barrel fund allocation.
Estrada is presently detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame. His legal professionals stated he’ll post bail on Saturday (September 16).
