At least 4 individuals have died and 13 are missing after tropical depression Maring introduced flooding and chaos throughout Luzon.

Most of the dead and missing have been poor individuals residing in recognized “danger zones” regardless of authorities warnings.

Among them have been two teenage brothers who perished in landslide in Taytay, Rizal, simply east of Manila.

Civil defence officer Ronnie Mateo mentioned: “Our local authorities had continuously warned them that their place was really prone to landslides but they insisted on staying.”

The brothers have been recognized as Jude Pundal, aged 17, and Justin Pundal, 14.

Another sufferer of the floods was a 12-year-old lady who drowned in a rain-swollen river in a Manila suburb. She has not but been publicly recognized.

In Quezon province, a two-month-old lady was killed and 7 others injured when a concrete wall round a hospital collapsed on three homes in Lucena metropolis.

Meanwhile, monetary markets, authorities places of work and colleges have all been closed and dozens of flights cancelled or diverted.

The arrival of Maring
