A lawyer of Ozamiz City Hall is claiming that the city police chief, Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido, had publicy boasted about taking down Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog and his unlawful drug operations.
Atty. Jeffrey Ocang, a Parojinog aide and authorized officer of Ozamiz city hall, stated that Espenido repeatedly claimed this for months earlier than the police performed the bloody raid within the mayor’s compound Sunday morning.
In an interview with GMA 7’s Balitanghali hosted by Mariz Umali and Jun Veneracion, Ocang stated that as early as February this 12 months, Espenido had despatched police in full battle gear to ship him a warning that the times of his alleged drug operations had been about to finish.
“Matagal na nilang ine-expect na illiquidate sila ni Chief Espenido, sa mga interviews niya sa local TV stations, paulit-ulit sinasabing magkaka-engkwentro sila at ng kanyang sweetheart. Pag nakahuli sila ng drug suspects, laging niyang sinansabi na malapit na siya sa head at lagi niyang tinatag ang Parojinog family,” stated Ocang.
Last Sunday, Parojinog, his spouse Susan, and 11 others had been killed within the household compound after a police workforce issued a search warrant at 2:00 a.m. Sunday, July 30.
“In my opinion, he (Parojinog) was planned and targeted by Espinido,” stated Ocang.
