President Rodrigo Duterte plans to go to Marawi City on his first anniversary as Chief Executive.
“Gusto kong pumunta ng Marawi. I think I’ll go there on Friday,” he stated in his speech on the Presidential Security Group’s 120th founding anniversary Wednesday (June 28).
Duterte shrugged off considerations about his safety, saying it’s too late “to be hesitating to go there.”
“I will go there and… Eh di kung walang swerte, eh di uwi ako dito cargo rin, C-130. Tutal may Bise Presidente naman, ano ba naman problema natin?” he requested.
The President stated he can not sit in his office whereas the folks in the strife-torn space are struggling.
He stated he has been making the rounds of navy camps in the previous few weeks as a result of he wished to ensure that the troops’ morale is excessive.
Duterte was supposed to go to Marawi City earlier this month whereas the battle between the Maute group and troopers had been ongoing, but it surely was cancelled due to foul climate.
