President Rodrigo Duterte didn’t give any new forecast on when he thought the Marawi war would end after twice getting burned making dangerous predictions.
In a speech in a army camp in Davao City Thursday, Duterte stated:
“I hope that this fight would not last for another month. Pagod na ang mga sundalo na. Kasi kayo ngayon pagka mag-isang buwan pa ito, palit na naman. Kayo lahat ngayon ang ipadala ko,” stated Duterte.
Duterte declared martial legislation in Mindanao simply hours after a whole bunch of Maute terrorists went on a rampage in Marawi City last May three.
Later in his speech, Duterte was optimistic that the war’s end was nearer than most anticipated. “By the way it is involving now, I think it will not last a few more days,” stated Duterte.
In a press briefing, Duterte primarily based his optimism on the nearing end of the war to 3 elements: fewer enemies; decrease resistance; and fewer preventing.
“Maybe the security forces of government would be ale control all of the city territory,” stated Duterte.
