President Rodrigo Duterte has assured the parents of 17-year-old Kian Loyd Delos Santos that he won’t save cops who commit wrongdoing in his administration.

Duterte made the promise throughout his assembly with Saldy and Lorenza Delos Santos Monday (August 28) on the Malago Clubhouse in Malacañang.

“Wala akong ano na mag-kapote ng abuso. Hindi trabaho ng Presidente ‘yan,” the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) quoted Duterte as telling the Delos Santos couple.

“Trabaho namin is proteksyon ng tao,” he added.

Kian was killed in anti-drug operations performed by the Caloocan City police in Barangay 160 on August 16.

Police claimed they shot him as a result of he fired at them first whereas making an attempt to flee. However, surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts inform in any other case.

At least three policemen concerned within the operation are dealing with homicide charges in reference to Kian’s death.

In a press convention in Pampanga earlier than assembly the Delos Santos couple, Duterte stated it appeared that the cops who had been caught on surveillance digicam dragging an individual believed to be Kian dedicated wrongdoing.

“Hindi ako sigurado kung si Kian ‘yun. Pero from the looks of it, it ain’t that way. Hindi ‘yun performance of duty,” he stated.
