The Department of Justice (DOJ) is set to conduct inquest proceedings towards arrested members of the Maute terroris group at previous midday Monday (June 12) at Camp Evagelista, Cagayan de Oro City.

“As we celebrate our Independence Day, we are starting the inquest proceedings for the personalities allegedly involved in the violent attacks on Marawi City and its residents,” Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre stated in an announcement.

Aguirre himself flew to Misamis Oriental on June 12 to oversee the preparations being made for the inquest proceedings.

Among these with him within the delegation are Justice Undersecretaries Antonio Kho Jr., who supervises the National Prosecution Service and Renante Orceo who oversaw the Iligan City momentary workplace of the Marawi City Prosecutor’s Office.

On the opposite hand, Justice Undersecretary Deo Marco went straight to Cagayan de Oro City to oversee the preliminary preparations of the DOJ groups tasked to deal with the inquest proceedings.

“I commend all our prosecutors and everyone who are part of the DOJ Teams tasked to handle the inquest proceedings for their willingness to work even during this holiday in the name of justice and for all the innocents who suffered during the dastardly attack on Marawi City,” stated Aguirre.
