Surigao Rep. Johnny Pimentel is claiming that the P10 billion fund for the rehabilitation of battle tor Marawi City will come from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (NDRRMF) in subsequent yr’s finances.

Pimentel made the clarification after Presidential Spokesperson Ernie Abella quoted Budget Secretary Ben Diokno as claiming that the primary P10 billion for the “Bangon Marawi” fund would come from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp

In an announcement, Pimentel, a membdr of the House appropriatons committee, stated the NDRRMF for 2018 was purposely bumped up to P25.5 billion subsequent yr from P15.7 billion this yr to present for the additional P10
billion for Marawi.

The NDRRMF is the lump-sum fund within the annual finances “for aid, relief and rehabilitation services to areas affected by man-made and natural calamities, and the repair and reconstruction of permanent structures, including other capital expenditures for disaster operation and rehabilitation activities.”
