Detained Senator Leila De Lima has requested the Muntinlupa City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 205 to dismiss the drug case in opposition to her involving the proliferation of unlawful medication on the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).

“In sum, none of the operative acts alleged in the Information is imputable to herein Accused, thus the facts charged in the Information do not constitute and charge any offense as against her,” learn her movement to quash filed by her lwayer Teddy Rigoroso.

Under the case, De Lima is accused of having conspired with co-accused Jose Adrian Dera to demand, solicit, and extort cash and autos from Bilibid inmate and drug lord Peter Co.

“The Information is bereft of any allegation that Accused De Lima gave instructions and entered into agreement with Dera to solicit or extort money from Peter Co,” the lawyer stated.

Also, the lawyer identified the case in opposition to her doesn’t represent a violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“An elementary survey of our penal laws would also reveal that the Information does not constitute any other crime or offense, even that of bribery, grave threats, nor coercion,” stated the lawyer.

Apart from this case, De Lima is going through two extra drug charges earlier than branches 204 and 206 of the Muntinlupa
