Senator Leila de Lima has promised to proceed the battle for human rights and justice for the victims of drug killings below “vengeful” regime of President Duterte.
De Lima made the vow after welcoming her inclusion within the Time journal’s checklist of 100 most influential individuals for the yr.
“I am deeply humbled for being recognized by Time magazine as an Icon among their 100 Most Influential people in the world,” she tweeted.
“For many of our countrymen, it is more convenient to huddle up close to Malacanang and reap and the benefits of being a sycophant, rather than take the road less travelled but be the victim of political persecution by a vengeful strongmen,” she stated.
She stated she may have remained silent to those proper abuses however such silence would have been betrayal of the nation, the oppressed, and the marginalized.
