The conflict on terrorism will not be over but even when the navy ends the siege in Marawi City, President Rodrigo Duterte has hinted.

In a speech on the oath-taking of the Philippine National Police’s star-rank officers on August 30, Duterte stated terrorists goal areas with a big inhabitants.

“Nabigla lang tayo dito sa [Marawi]. But you know, there’s a reason for that. They can only do it in places where they are the dominant population. They cannot do it anywhere,” he stated.

“But itong kalaban talaga natin, itong mga extremist na Moro who has joined the ISIS. Zamboanga could be a very tempting target and even Manila,” he stated.
