Senator Cynthia Villar wants to end the “unli rice” promos provided by some eating places amid authorities efforts to obtain rice self sufficiency.

Villar, chair of the Senate committee on agriculture and meals, made the decision following a listening to on rice importation Wednesday (June 14).

She stated eating places ought to as an alternative be encouraging their prospects to eat extra greens.

“You know, the findings in other countries, mas better ang diet nila. Hindi masyadong maraming rice, may vegetable. If you really ask doctors, that’s a better diet. So dapat i-train na rin nating mga Filipinos not to eat too much rice kasi nagiging diabetic,” Villar stated.

The senator stated an excessive amount of rice is unhealthy for one’s weight loss program.

Since adults’ habits are exhausting to break, Villar stated it’s higher for Departments of Health and Education to begin educating kids to eat extra greens than rice.
